Released by Bandai Spirits, Japan, the toy series "COMPLETE STYLE GIGANTIC", which recreates the armaments of Japanese Tokusatsu heroes with in-show designs and rich sound and light effects, has announced its latest product from "Kamen Rider Kuuga", the "Dragon Rod", scheduled for release in January 2026.
The Dragon Rod, released this time, is a staff-like weapon used by Kamen Rider Kuuga in his "Dragon Form" to compensate for this form's weaker combat abilities. When extended, it can reach up to 2 meters in length. The center of the weapon is engraved with ancient characters meaning "Come forth! O Rod of the Water Dragon sleeping in the sea!", allowing for the execution of the special move "Dragon Rod Torrent" which concentrates sealed energy at its tip. After Kuuga gains new power and becomes "Rising Dragon Form", the Dragon Rod also transforms into the "Rising Dragon Rod", with new golden blades added to both ends, allowing it to be used as a naginata.
The "CSG Dragon Rod" faithfully recreates the in-show prop's sapphire blue and gold paintwork, as well as the ancient character engravings on the staff. By replacing parts, it can reproduce three forms: "Dragon Rod (stored state)", "Dragon Rod (extended state)", and "Rising Dragon Rod". In its Dragon Rod form, it reaches a maximum length of 140 cm, and the Rising Dragon Rod extends to an impressive 170 cm, making it the largest Kamen Rider toy product in Bandai's history.
Furthermore, the staff body also features a built-in sound playback function. By operating a button, you can switch between "Dragon Rod" and "Rising Dragon Rod" modes, each emitting transformation sounds, staff extension sounds, impact sounds, and more, as well as the activation sounds for the special moves "Dragon Rod Torrent" and "Rising Dragon Rod Torrent"!
