Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd.'s Gashapon brand has announced the release of the gashapon product "RX-0 Unicorn Gundam Ver. TWC ~The Gundam Base Limited~", themed after the life-sized Unicorn Gundam statue in Odaiba, Japan, scheduled for July 2025. This product will be exclusively sold at the official flagship store, THE GUNDAM BASE.
The life-sized statue "RX-0 Unicorn Gundam Ver.TWC (TOKYO WATER FRONT CITY)", on display since 2017, has become one of Odaiba, Japan's most prominent landmarks. The statue stands at an impressive 19.7 meters tall and weighs 49 metric tons, featuring approximately 50 illuminated sections across its body that can display a rich variety of colors. Its armor is adorned with new markings designed by mechanical designer Katoki Hajime. It even incorporates transformation mechanisms for antenna deployment, face mode changes, and parts like the shoulders, waist, and knees, allowing it to gradually transform from "Unicorn Mode" to "Destroy Mode."
1. Unicorn Gundam Destroy Mode (RED FRAME Ver.)
This "RX-0 Unicorn Gundam Ver. TWC ~The Gundam Base Limited~" gashapon is crafted in the transformed "Destroy Mode" appearance, recreating the standing pose of the Unicorn Gundam statue at an approximate height of 10 cm. It meticulously details the expanded white armor and the exposed psycho-frame within, available in three frame colors: red, green, and blue. Furthermore, the gashapon capsule that packages the product can be reassembled into a dedicated display stand, combining with the main figure to create a 17 cm tall display piece.
2. Unicorn Gundam Destroy Mode (GREEN FRAME Ver.)
3. Unicorn Gundam Destroy Mode (BLUE FRAME Ver.)
