Star-Studded "Alien Invasion": Bae Doona, Léa Seydoux, Dave Bautista, Chris Pine, and Cate Blanchett Form Dream Ensemble

David Zellner and Nathan Zellner, the writing and directing duo behind last year's critically noted "Sasquatch Sunset" and the acclaimed "Kumiko, the Treasure Hunter," have assembled an incredibly impressive and still-expanding cast for their upcoming alien invasion film, "Alpha Gang." The sheer star power might lead one to believe it's a Roland Emmerich-helmed sci-fi disaster epic, but it's actually an independent, low-budget production.

As of today, the "Alpha Gang" ensemble features Chris Pine, Lily-Rose Depp, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Cate Blanchett, Léa Seydoux, Bae Doona, Dave Bautista, and Riley Keough. When the project was first announced last year, the cast originally included Channing Tatum, Zoë Kravitz, and Steven Yeun, but their roles have since been filled by the newly added actors.

The film follows a group of alien invaders dispatched to conquer Earth. They initially infiltrate human society by disguising themselves as a leather-clad motorcycle gang from the 1950s. These extraterrestrial beings are typically ruthless in their mission, until they encounter humanity's most potent and infectious affliction: emotion, which quickly dismantles all their defenses.
