The upcoming fourth installment of "Meet the Parents," which has seen a steady stream of new cast announcements, officially revealed its full title today: "Focker-in-Law." The title plays on the surname of lead actor Ben Stiller's character, Focker, which sounds like "Father." By adding "in-Law," the studio intentionally creates a pun on "Father-in-Law." This also hints that Stiller, who was once the son-in-law, will now become the difficult father-in-law.
Stiller recently explained in an interview that the idea for the fourth film arose organically, as he is now the same age Robert De Niro was when he played Stiller's father-in-law in the first movie.

Furthermore, Owen Wilson, whose return to the ensemble had been unconfirmed, has finally appeared on the official cast list today. Regarding new additions, Skyler Gisondo will portray Stiller's son, and Ariana Grande will play his strong-willed fiancée. Grande's character is set to clash with Stiller, who will be constantly disapproving of his daughter-in-law.
The confirmed returning original cast members include De Niro and Blythe Danner as the in-laws, and Teri Polo alongside Stiller as the on-screen couple. There is no news yet regarding the return of Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand, who played the paternal in-laws; official clarification is still pending. This installment is written and directed by John Hamburg, co-writer of the first three films, and is scheduled for a North American release on November 25, 2026.
