Journalist Andrew Callaghan recently interviewed Hunter Biden, son of former U.S. President Joe Biden, on his YouTube channel series "Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan." During the interview, Callaghan unexpectedly revealed previously unknown interactions between George Clooney and Jack Black during last year's election cycle.
Callaghan began by mentioning that Black was his only truly famous friend in Hollywood, and they were once neighbors in Los Angeles. He then recounted an incident from last year when Black and his Tenacious D bandmate Kyle Gass were performing in Sydney, Australia. Gass had reportedly made a controversial joke on stage about then-President Donald Trump not being shot successfully, leading Black to distance himself from Gass and announce a hiatus for the band. Callaghan claimed that Black's decision was actually forced by his close friend Clooney, with whom he had previously co-starred in Nespresso commercials.
Callaghan stated: "George Clooney was calling Jack like crazy, saying, 'If you don't kick your bandmate out and publicly condemn this person, I don't know what the consequences will be.' The tone was almost like, 'You're out!' But out of what, I don't know. In any case, Jack was basically forced to say, 'Oh, I'm sorry, my bandmate has serious mental health issues, we're temporarily disbanding, and the tour is canceled.'"

Upon hearing this, Hunter immediately lashed out: "I agree with what Quentin Tarantino said before, that Clooney isn't really a movie star. F*** George Clooney, what kind of f***ing actor is he? He's just... I don't even know what he is, he's just a 'brand,' I guess." Hunter then sarcastically added that Clooney is known for being good to his friends and buying them gifts, only to turn around and coerce a friend like this.
The concert incident Callaghan referred to centered on a segment where Black brought out a cake to celebrate Gass's birthday. Before blowing out the candles, Gass mischievously wished, "Next time, please shoot Trump." Shortly after the concert, Black issued a statement clarifying that he was unaware Gass would make such a joke and announced the cancellation of all future Tenacious D activities.
