Atari and Bandai Namco are teaming up to celebrate the 45th anniversary of "Pac-Man," unveiling a special lineup of products designed to evoke the golden age of 80s gaming. This includes a brand-new yellow Atari 2600+ console with commemorative games, alongside a preview of "The Namco Collection" DLC for "Atari 50," bringing these timeless classics back into the spotlight for a new generation of players.
The centerpiece of this celebration is the "Atari 2600+ Pac-Man Special Edition" console, featuring a vibrant yellow design. Priced at $169.99, it is now available for pre-order on the official Atari website. The console comes bundled with "Pac-Man: Double Feature," a game cartridge that includes two versions: the newly developed "Pac-Man 7800" and the original home console classic, "Pac-Man 2600," honoring both the arcade and home gaming eras.
Additionally, Atari will offer a limited run of 1,000 "Golden Box Edition" sets exclusively at San Diego Comic-Con, priced at $99.99. This collector's bundle features a 2-in-1 game cartridge (available in random colors: red, blue, pink, orange, or yellow) along with exclusive pins and cloth patches, making it a highly sought-after collectible.
In a nod to "Pac-Man"'s iconic imagery, five different colored CX40+ wireless joysticks are also being released. Each joystick, priced at $39.99, represents Pac-Man himself or one of the four classic ghost characters: Inky, Pinky, Blinky, and Clyde, allowing players to choose their favorite character's color scheme.

Furthermore, "Atari 50" is set to receive the brand-new DLC "The Namco Collection," slated for release later this year at $7.99. This collection will feature a host of Namco classics, including "Pac-Man 2600," "Galaga," "Dig Dug," "Xevious," and "Galaxian," showcasing the golden age of Japanese and American gaming collaboration.
Karim Farghaly, a senior executive at Bandai Namco Entertainment America, commented on the collaboration, stating that partnering with Atari once again is a tribute to these timeless classics. He expressed hope that the joint project would not only rekindle shared memories for veteran players but also introduce "Pac-Man," an eternal gaming icon, to a new generation.
