The sequel to Jake Gyllenhaal's "Road House" has seen multiple director changes. Doug Liman, who helmed the first installment, reportedly declined to return after a public dispute with Amazon over contract issues. Following his exit, Guy Ritchie, known for the "Sherlock Holmes" franchise, was attached to direct but later departed for undisclosed reasons. However, Amazon has quickly found a replacement, and the production schedule appears to remain on track.

Industry outlet Deadline reports that Ilya Naishuller (pictured below), director of "Nobody" and who recently helmed Amazon's "Heads of State," is now in talks to take over directing duties for "Road House 2." The film's planned fall production start remains unchanged. "Heads of State" premiered in early July, generating significant buzz and topping Amazon Prime Video's viewership charts for three consecutive weeks, making Amazon keen to continue their collaboration.

Will Beall, known for writing "Aquaman" and "Gangster Squad," is penning the script for the sequel. Dave Bautista is also set to join the cast, portraying a new character who is another former UFC middleweight fighter.
