Satoru Noda's hit series, Golden Kamuy, might have wrapped up its manga run, but it's still riding high on popularity thanks to a live-action film and TV series starring Kento Yamazaki. Plus, fans are eagerly awaiting the final fifth season of the anime, keeping the hype alive.
Recently, one X user's creative Golden Kamuy toy set, boldly labeled "suitable for ages 3+," blew up online because its contents were, well, a little too "buff." Netizens couldn't help but quip, "Isn't this a slightly unsettling big bro combo?" and declare, "This isn't a kids' toy; it's an adult war!"
The buzz started with X user Riko (@sylvania__23), who shared a photo with the caption: "Isn't this 'City Cool Big Bro Combo' a bit too ripped?" The box was crammed with three muscular characters from Golden Kamuy: "Immortal Sugimoto," Lieutenant Koito, and Sergeant Tsukishima, creating a truly impactful visual!
Turns out, the toy box was originally for the "City Cool Big Bro Combo" from the Sylvanian Families series, which typically features gentle figures like Persian cats, striped cats, and Labradors. But Riko swapped them out for the hardcore hunks of Golden Kamuy, creating an epic visual contrast.
She explained that she loves putting "tough guys" into the Sylvanian Families world, and this incongruous mashup has become her signature creative style.
▼ Like this hilarious shot of Hyakunosuke Ogata crammed in with a "sports sit." Seriously, what kind of emotional trauma are those three cats experiencing?
After these "Cool Big Bro" toy makeovers went viral, netizens absolutely lost it, flooding the comments with reactions like: "Isn't 3 years old a bit too young for these muscle-bound dudes…", "Is this a Hokkaido-exclusive edition?", "These cool guys are ready for battle in a second!", "This creativity is next-level, it's art," and "Totally Cinderella Fit, LOL."
