Hollywood star Tom Holland, who recently donned the Spider-Man suit once more for "Spider-Man: Brand New Day," has reportedly sustained a minor concussion on set. According to external media outlet Variety, Holland was filming the new movie on Friday when the incident occurred. Production has been temporarily paused, and Holland will rest for several days to ensure his full recovery.
Sources indicate that Sony and Marvel Studios are scheduled to meet on Monday to re-evaluate and adjust the upcoming production schedule. Fortunately, no other crew members were injured, and the situation on set is under control.
The highly anticipated new Spider-Man film began principal photography in early August 2025 in Glasgow, Scotland, and is slated for a theatrical release on July 31, 2026. Last month, Sony released behind-the-scenes footage of Holland in his updated Spider-Man suit, marking his return to the iconic role four years after 2021's "Spider-Man: No Way Home."
Holland shared his emotional reaction at the time, stating, "This is my fourth time having the first day of filming for 'Spider-Man,' and wearing the suit feels a bit different. This is also the first time fans have been present on the first day of filming, and I'm especially excited to share it with everyone. I will do my best to perform well and hope not to disappoint expectations."
While the accident caused a temporary halt in filming, Holland's injury is not severe, and he is expected to return to work within a few days. "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" remains a key collaborative project for Sony and Marvel, generating significant anticipation among fans.
"Spider-Man: Brand New Day" commenced filming in early August 2025 in the UK, with Destin Daniel Cretton, known for directing "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings," at the helm.
