EA and DICE officially unveiled the first campaign mode trailer for "Battlefield 6" at the latest Sony State of Play presentation, announcing the highly anticipated shooter will launch on October 10 across PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. This reveal focused on the single-player campaign, emphasizing a return to the series' core battlefield experience.
According to official descriptions, the "Battlefield 6" campaign is set on a "global scale." Players will step into the boots of an elite unit member from "Dagger 13," a U.S. Navy assault team tasked with stopping a threat known as Pax Armata.
Beyond the campaign mode, previous information also revealed that multiplayer will support cross-platform play. This ensures a highly active player base, allowing players on Xbox and PlayStation to connect seamlessly. Additionally, the developers have emphasized that the game will avoid excessive "fluff," aiming to maintain an authentic and serious battlefield atmosphere.

Notably, the campaign trailer incorporates numerous real-world elements, prompting speculation on whether the game will delve into themes of the military-industrial complex or the fundamental nature of war. However, given the current global climate, including the genocide in Gaza and the war in Ukraine, there's widespread skepticism about whether EA and DICE will directly address these sensitive topics.
On another note, "Battlefield 6" has already achieved impressive results during its pre-launch public tests. Analysts have noted that the game set a new record for EA during its testing phase, with potential to surpass previous series installments in sales performance. These achievements underscore the continued high enthusiasm players have for the franchise.
While a Switch 2 platform release is not yet planned, "Battlefield 6"'s return to a traditional core design, coupled with a global-scale campaign mode, has already fueled high anticipation among fans for the upcoming October launch.
