The film centers on Jay Kelly (Clooney), a fictional Hollywood superstar traveling to an Italian film festival to accept a lifetime achievement award. He plans to use the trip to reconnect with his estranged young daughter and celebrate the end of his career with loved ones. However, the journey becomes a crucible of self-reflection as he struggles to bridge the gap with his daughter, mourns the recent death of the director who discovered him, and reunites with an old acting school friend who never found fame. These encounters force Kelly to confront the complex life choices that forged his brilliant career but also left him with a profound sense of loneliness.
"Jay Kelly" is set for a limited theatrical release in North America on November 14, before streaming globally on Netflix starting December 5.
