Filming for the third reboot of "The Mummy," helmed by "Evil Dead Rise" director Lee Cronin, began in Ireland this past March and officially wrapped by the end of June. Typically, an IP rebooted twice wouldn't revisit its original storyline, or at least not until the new reboot falters. However, "The Mummy" franchise appears to be a rare exception.

According to renowned entertainment journalist Daniel Richtman, who revealed the news on his Patreon page this morning, Universal Pictures is reportedly now looking to continue the Brendan Fraser-led iteration of the franchise, developing a fourth installment. While Fraser's version has been dormant for a long time, audiences have consistently clamored for a continuation, and Fraser himself has expressed openness to returning, making a revival not entirely out of the question.
Before any potential fourth film for Fraser's series is greenlit, the third "The Mummy" reboot is set to hit North American theaters next year on April 17. Produced by Blumhouse Productions and starring Irish actor Jack Reynor, this version aims to recapture the horror tone of the 1932 original film. Unlike the high-budget adventure spectacles of the Fraser and Tom Cruise versions, this installment will feature a significantly lower budget.
