The film will also see the return of several deceased characters and Ghostface killers from previous installments, including Scott Foley as Roman, Sidney's half-brother from "Scream 3"; Matthew Lillard as Stu and Skeet Ulrich as Billy, Sidney's boyfriend, both from the original "Scream"; and Deputy Dewey, played by David Arquette.
"Scream 7" features a screenplay by Guy Busick, who co-wrote the previous two films, with James Vanderbilt, his co-writer on those installments, credited for the story concept. Rumors suggest the plot of the seventh film will involve AI and deepfake technology, explaining the return of several characters previously killed off. The film is slated for a February 27, 2026 release.
