The 'MODEROID' series of plastic model kits, launched by Japan's MECHA SMILE brand, today announced its latest product from the anime "Fafner in the Azure THE BEYOND", the "Fafner Mk.VII Kai Azrael", scheduled for release in July 2026.
In the series, the "Fafner Mk.VII", piloted by Maya Toomi, is an aerial combat support unit equipped with the long-range sniper rifle "Dragon Tooth", possessing both flight capabilities and long-range sniping prowess. During the Fourth Azure Operation, this unit was upgraded into the next-generation Einherjar-type Fafner, the "Fafner Mk.VII Kai Azrael". Its weapon remains the "Dragon Tooth", and combined with Maya's Super Dimensional Phenomenon (SDP) ability, it can detect, identify, and even attack multiple enemies simultaneously.
The "MODEROID Fafner Mk.VII Kai Azrael" is constructed using multiple pre-colored parts, pre-painted parts, and decals. Once assembled, it stands approximately 19 cm tall, perfectly recreating its pinkish-purple armor coloration. It features flexible articulated joints, and its back stabilizers also have an unfolding mechanism to recreate its flight posture. By swapping parts, mechanisms such as the deployment of the Canon Amplifier and the extension of the wrist-mounted blades can also be reproduced.
For weaponry, it includes its signature long-range sniper rifle, the "Dragon Tooth". Through interchangeable parts, you can choose to equip either a "missile pod" or a "monopod", detach and attach spare magazines, and deploy the aiming system and extend the monopod.
