Good Smile Arts Shanghai (GSAS), established in China by Japan's GOOD SMILE COMPANY, has announced its latest product from the popular mobile game "Azur Lane": the "Formidable (μ-Gear)" 1/7 scale figure. With a reference price of 32,000 JPY, it is scheduled for release in December 2026!
A member of the Royal Navy, Formidable is based on the Illustrious-class aircraft carrier HMS Formidable (67/R67). In the game's lore, she is the younger sister of Illustrious and Victorious. While she appears to be an elegant royal lady, she possesses a contrasting wild personality underneath, disliking etiquette and covering her room in posters of rock stars. Due to a miscalculation of her weight by the shipyard, the supports collapsed during her launch, causing her to launch herself. As a result, she is often the subject of jokes about her tonnage.
The GSAS "Formidable (μ-Gear)" 1/7 scale figure captures her in her μ-Gear outfit from the home port's idol festival, recreating Formidable's all-new charm as an idol! Standing approximately 23 cm tall, the figure perfectly captures Formidable shining on stage. Her heavy, fair bosom is sculpted to look as if it's about to burst forth, and the multi-layered structure of her dress is meticulously detailed. Translucent materials are used to create a sheer texture, while the natural-looking folds and wrinkles create a sense of lightness and a chiffon-like effect in the fabric. The delicate paintwork not only enhances the three-dimensional feel but also reproduces a sparkling effect~ Her splayed-out twin-tails add a dynamic sense of motion, and the stage-themed base is impressively capable of bearing her weight (lol).
