The animated film adaptation of Tatsuki Fujimoto's (creator of "Chainsaw Man") short manga, "Look Back," hit Japanese theaters last June, earning critical acclaim and box office success. Despite its less-than-an-hour runtime, it captivated audiences worldwide.
Now, director Kiyotaka Oshiyama is bringing fans even closer with the "Look Back Theatrical Anime Exhibition – Kiyotaka Oshiyama: The Emotion in Lines," set to run from January 16 to March 29, 2026, at the Azabudai Hills Gallery in Tokyo. Alongside the reveal of the main visual, new details on special tickets and exhibition content have also dropped.

The newly unveiled main visual, personally redrawn by Director Oshiyama in pencil, captures Fujino and Kyomoto with incredible warmth and emotion.

What's more, with special cooperation from original author Tatsuki Fujimoto, the exhibition will feature the never-before-seen "original storyboard drafts" from the creation of the "Look Back" manga. These rare materials were previously distributed as limited-edition bonuses for the film's release, making this their first public display in Japan – a truly unmissable treat for fans!

This exhibition marks the first time multiple original drawings by Kiyotaka Oshiyama and other animators will be displayed, allowing visitors to truly feel the passion poured into the animation. It's a unique opportunity to witness the intricate details of feature-length animation production, from notes and scene sketches to original keyframes, all presented on an exhibition scale.

The venue will also recreate "Fujino's Room," where the two characters collaborated, and the "hallway piled high with sketchbooks" that connects to Kyomoto's room. Visitors will feel like they've stepped directly into the story's turning point, experiencing the world of "Look Back" firsthand.
