The hit light novel series Date A Live, written by Koushi Tachibana and illustrated by Tsunako, has spawned multiple anime adaptations, an animated film, and several spin-offs. This April, an all-new anime titled Date A Live F Last Date was announced—and it will officially serve as the franchise’s grand finale.
On October 25, the official team confirmed that Date A Live F Last Date will begin screening in theaters on March 26, 2027. The announcement also came with a teaser trailer and a second teaser visual.

With five anime seasons, an animated film, and other projects under its belt, Date A Live has grown into a sprawling franchise spanning 15 years. Its many stories across different media have built an expansive, unforgettable universe that has captured the hearts of countless fans—and it is still growing.
Now, the main story that started it all is returning as a completely new anime production. The countless mysteries and hidden chapters of history gradually uncovered throughout the series are finally coming together: spacequakes, the Neighboring World, DEM, Shinji Takamiya, Shido Itsuka—and the Spirits. As each truth comes to light, the world surrounding Shido and his companions finally begins to reveal its complete shape.
And now, to place the final piece of this world’s puzzle, Shido Itsuka and his allies are heading into the last stage of their battle. “Now then—let’s begin our final war, our final date.”

Date A Live switched animation studios with each of its first four seasons, while GEEKTOYS handled both Seasons 4 and 5. The studio will once again return for this final installment, continuing the production established in the previous seasons.
The second teaser visual puts Inverse Tohka front and center. In a sharp contrast to the previous image, the stained glass behind her has shattered, casting an ominous mood over the scene and raising even more questions about what awaits in the finale.

The teaser opens with Inverse Tohka declaring, “Sorry, but I’ll be taking this,” before launching into a series of brand-new animated shots that offer fans their first glimpse at the upcoming production.
Some Date A Live fans may still be wondering exactly what this “all-new anime” entails, but based on the official description, it appears set to bring the long-running saga to a definitive conclusion. With its theatrical debut locked in for March 26, 2027, fans can look forward to more updates as the final date draws closer.
