Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack 'METAL BUILD Hi-Nu Gundam 2026 (Provisional)' Announced for Commercialization – Painted Prototype Unveiled!

The popular die-cast action figure series 'METAL BUILD', released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, has announced the commercialization of its latest work, 'Hi-Nu Gundam 2026 (Provisional)', from Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack - Beltorchika's Children. A painted prototype was also unveiled at the 'TAMASHII NATION 2025' event. This product will be released as a commemorative item for the 'METAL BUILD' series exhibition to be held at TAMASHII NATIONS STORE TOKYO in spring 2026.

The RX-93-ν2 Hi-Nu Gundam is Amuro Ray's dedicated mobile suit that appeared in the novel version of Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack - Beltorchika's Children. Its in-story status is equivalent to the RX-93 Nu Gundam in the anime version. Compared to the Nu Gundam, which was completed in a rush, this unit underwent thorough maintenance and testing, thus achieving more complete performance. Its exterior features a blue and white color scheme and a more robust silhouette. The Fin Funnels on its back are symmetrically fixed to the wing binders and possess a charging function. It can also utilize the 'Hyper Mega Bazooka Launcher,' an ultra-large, high-firepower beam weapon powered by the battleship 'Ra Cailum.'

▼ The 'METAL BUILD Hi-Nu Gundam' released in 2022.

From the currently displayed prototype of the 'METAL BUILD Hi-Nu Gundam 2026 (Provisional)', it can be seen that this Hi-Nu incorporates many original model designs. Its overall silhouette resembles a fusion of the Nu Gundam and Hi-Nu Gundam. The main body largely reuses the design from the 2022 version, but the 'Fin Funnels' on the back have been modified to an asymmetrical design, similar to the Nu Gundam. This might be seen as paving the way for a future 'METAL BUILD Nu Gundam.'
