"United" has tapped David Raymond, writer and director of "Night Hunter," to helm the series. Production is slated to begin next year in Spain and Atlanta, USA. Beyond Costner, another actor rumored to join the cast is Chukwudi Iwuji, known for his role as the villain "The High Evolutionary" in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3." He is reportedly set to portray former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan.

The series will center on the 1999 East Timor uprising against Indonesian rule, detailing Clinton's and the UN's involvement in mediation efforts to de-escalate the regional tensions.
