The HOBBY Division of BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd. Japan, renowned for its 1/100 scale Gundam plastic model "MG (Master Grade)" series, which boasts excellent part separation, internal frame structures, and extensive articulation, has officially announced the latest product from "Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans": the "MG 1/100 Gundam Barbatos Lupus Expansion Parts Set," scheduled for release in February 2026. This product will be sold exclusively on BANDAI's official online store, PREMIUM BANDAI.
The ASW-G-08 Gundam Barbatos Lupus is the refurbished new form of the Gundam Barbatos, undertaken by Tekkadan after the fierce battle in Edmonton against Gjallarhorn. With technical support from Teiwaz, significant internal and external adjustments were made. It features multiple curved armor plates to reduce impact from hits and is lightweight to enhance mobility. Regarding the "Alaya-Vijnana System," further analysis and adjustments were made based on past combat data to allow Mikazuki to achieve an even greater man-machine integration, leading to an overall performance improvement. In addition to the sword-mace and small mace used for close combat, 200mm cannons and rocket launchers can also be added to both arms.
The "MG 1/100 Gundam Barbatos Lupus Expansion Parts Set" is an expansion parts set designed for use with the separately sold "MG 1/100 Gundam Barbatos Lupus" main unit. With various new parts, it enriches Gundam Barbatos Lupus with more forms, recreating famous scenes from the anime. The kit is also designed in 1/100 scale with precise MG specifications.
The product includes two wrist-mounted rocket launchers, an auxiliary support stand, damaged shoulder parts, damaged head recreation parts, red eye glow recreation parts, left shoulder aura effect parts, Reborn Helmwige's Greatsword, hand parts for holding the greatsword, newly designed water-slide decals, and more. Among them, the greatsword recreates the retractable hilt mechanism and the separation mechanism of the "mace" at the tail end. Combined with the main unit's interchangeable parts, it can recreate the impressive and cool appearance from the show when it single-handedly challenged the massive Mobile Armor "Hashmal."
