Hiroshi Takahashi's "CROWS" & "WORST" Get First New Series in 13 Years, Kicking Off January!

Manga artist Hiroshi Takahashi, creator of the classic delinquent manga "CROWS" and its sequel "WORST," announced today that a brand-new series is set to begin serialization in the January 13, 2026 issue of the seinen manga magazine "Young Champion." This marks the first time in 13 years that Takahashi himself will be handling both the original story and the artwork, finally delivering a long-awaited continuation over a decade in the making!

"CROWS" ran from 1990 to 1998, followed by "WORST" from 2001 to 2013. This series is an absolute cornerstone of Japanese delinquent manga, with its intricate portrayal of rival school factions and unforgettable characters leaving a lasting impression. It's a hugely popular franchise in Japan, even spawning a live-action film in 2007 starring Shun Oguri, along with OVAs, stage plays, games, and a ton of other multimedia projects. Its influence is still massive today!

The new series will once again center around the iconic Suzuran All-Boys High School, the familiar battleground from both "CROWS" and "WORST." The official title for the new work hasn't been revealed yet, but it's coming soon! To celebrate this epic announcement, the official channels have dropped a brand-new teaser visual drawn by Takahashi-sensei himself, along with a teaser video.

While these series might be considered classics from a bygone era, the fact that Takahashi-sensei is back after 13 years to handle both the story and art himself—a long wait since "WORST" wrapped up in 2013—has fans hyped to see what kind of fiery new tale he'll deliver this time!
