Gin and Vodka Cosplayers from "Detective Conan" Go Viral After Theme Park Security Search: "Did Someone Take a Drug and Shrink?"

When you dress up for Cosplay, getting the costume and styling right is only half the fun. Have you ever considered taking your character to a location that matches the story for an even more immersive experience?

An X/Social Media user in Japan recently shared a trip to Universal Studios Japan with a friend, where the pair dressed as Black Organization executives Gin and Vodka from Detective Conan to recreate the series' classic first episode. But there was an unexpected twist: the user, dressed as Vodka, entered the park without a problem, while his friend dressed as Gin was stopped and thoroughly questioned by staff. The story quickly went viral on X/Social Media, with fans delighted by the idea of these two characters spending a day at a theme park.

The user, TADAO, explained that he made it into the park as Vodka without being questioned. Gin, however, was subjected to a careful security search. TADAO joked that his boss had apparently been flagged as a real troublemaker...

The encounter immediately became a hot topic on X/Social Media. Some users joked that even the Black Organization apparently enjoys theme parks, while warning everyone on the roller coaster to watch out. TADAO responded that they were not criminals and had behaved themselves throughout their visit, so there was no need to worry.

Another user asked whether they had brought any suspicious drugs into the park. TADAO joked that since it was Halloween, they naturally had to go with a pill-themed version of trick-or-treat.

One commenter even imitated Vodka's manner of speaking: "This has to be about establishing an alibi. That's my boss for you."

Someone else joked, "Did anybody shrink today?" TADAO replied, "There were too many Detective Boys bothering us around the park. We had to maintain our dignity."
Of course, the pair's trip to Universal Studios Japan ended without incident. Plenty of visitors later said they had spotted Gin and Vodka that day, with some initially assuming they were official park performers. Discovering that they were simply two fans enjoying the park in Cosplay only made the whole situation even funnier.

Sometimes, picking the perfect location really does take Cosplay to another level.
