Known affectionately as "Minecraft" (or "MC" to its fans), the game is celebrated for its boundless freedom and adaptive gameplay, making it a go-to for countless streamers and VTubers. This year's live-action movie also saw global box office success.
One of Minecraft's most iconic contraptions is the lava chicken roaster, a fiery device that even made an appearance in the movie adaptation with a "lava chicken" scene. But what would actually happen if you tried this insane cooking method in the real world? A YouTuber recently decided to find out.

The challenge comes from Andrew Rea, the culinary YouTuber behind the 10.5M+ subscriber channel Binging with Babish. In a new video, he literally plunged a whole raw chicken into real, molten lava.

The "finished" (?) chicken, as you might expect, was charred to an absolute crisp, looking more like a lump of charcoal. But was it cooked through? Was it edible? The video shows the full reveal, slicing it open for all to see.

Beyond the lava experiment, the video also features some genuinely delicious-looking, Minecraft-inspired chicken dishes, including a "proper" gourmet roasted chicken for players.

Of course, this dangerous experiment was conducted with full safety protocols and protective gear. Even if you somehow manage to get your hands on molten lava, please, for the love of all that is good, do NOT try to replicate Minecraft's methods in real life. Life is precious, don't mess around! LOL!
