The 1/100 scale Gundam plastic model kit series 'MG (Master Grade)', released by Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company's HOBBY Division, known for its excellent part separation, internal frame structure, and rich articulation mechanisms, has announced the latest product from the 'Mobile Suit Gundam F90 A to Z PROJECT', the 'MG 1/100 F90IIIY CLUSTER Gundam X-Type Mission Pack', slated for release in March 2026. This product will be exclusively sold on Bandai's official online store, PREMIUM BANDAI.
The F90IIIY CLUSTER Gundam is a mobile suit developed by combining the originally unfinished 'Gundam F90' Unit 3 with the 'Y-Type Mission Pack (YOUNG STAR)' which utilizes a core block system. After the 'Core Fighter F90III' connects with the mission pack to form the 'Core Booster F90III', it can horizontally enter the chest core block from the Gundam's back to complete the combination. This makes replacing F90 series mission pack components and armaments much easier, and also allows direct energy supply to armaments from the mission pack's hardpoints. Simultaneously, S.N.R.I. learned from the lesson of Unit 2 being stolen, not only making the Core Fighter the key to activating the CLUSTER Gundam but also centralizing all data management systems within the fighter to prevent rival corporations from stealing information.
The 'MG 1/100 F90IIIY CLUSTER Gundam X-Type Mission Pack' released this time is an enhanced equipment designed for use with the separately sold 'CLUSTER Gundam' main unit. The kit is made with entirely new, multi-color molded parts. The mission pack itself can independently form the large fighter 'X-Fortress' mode, and can be displayed in a flying state with the included display stand.
When forming the MS mode with the CLUSTER Gundam, the hardpoint design on the back and limbs allows for quick and complete equipment changes. The back is equipped with a 'Quad-Engine Deflection Thruster' reminiscent of the Crossbone Gundam series, housing large fuel tanks. Both legs are equipped with additional thrusters, while the arms feature the composite armament 'Zenobia', which combines a twin beam cannon and a beam shield generator, and can recreate its deployed state with two 'beam shield effect parts'.
