"SHIBUYA SCRAMBLE FIGURE," the high-quality figure brand launched by eStream, a subsidiary of Japan's CyberZ, recently unveiled a new product based on the popular anime "Kaiju No. 8"—the "Kaiju No. 8 & Kafka Hibino" 1/7 scale pre-painted figure. It has a suggested retail price of 42,900 JPY and is scheduled for release in January 2027!
The story of "Kaiju No. 8" follows Kafka Hibino, who works for a monster corpse clean-up company. In the past, he made a promise with his childhood friend Mina Ashiro to join the Defense Force together and eliminate all kaiju, but for various reasons, he gave up on this dream. Through a twist of fate, Kafka gains the ability to transform into the powerful "Kaiju No. 8." Encouraged and assisted by his new colleague Reno Ichikawa, he decides to once again pursue his goal of becoming a Defense Force member and fighting alongside Mina.
This "Kaiju No. 8 & Kafka Hibino" figure stands approximately 29 cm tall, merging Kafka's two forms—before and after transformation—into a single masterpiece. On one side, Kafka is depicted in his monster corpse clean-up company uniform, holding a hose. The center is divided by kaiju remains and smoke effects. On the other side, Kaiju No. 8 is sculpted in a powerful, dynamic pose, ready to strike! The intricate sculpting meticulously reproduces details such as Kaiju No. 8's skin texture and the wrinkles in Kafka's uniform. The delicate paintwork deepens shadows to enhance overall contrast, and Kaiju No. 8's body features a sprayed finish that creates a visual effect of emitting blue light. Combined with the hand effects and Kafka on the other side, it perfectly showcases the charm of both aspects simultaneously!
