ShiftUp Corp.'s mobile game Goddess of Victory: NIKKE has been a smash hit since launch, frequently collaborating with other anime and game IPs and racking up a huge fanbase across Korea, Japan, and Taiwan.
The latest update announcement, however, has set the internet ablaze. Blanc, affectionately known as "White Rabbit" by players, is getting a limited-edition costume called "Blanc - Lucky Express." The outfit, featuring only underwear, black stockings, and boots on the bottom half, immediately sparked a massive debate online, with many players exclaiming, "Wait, is she really only wearing *that* on the bottom?"

NIKKE's official X (formerly Twitter) account dropped the promo for Blanc's limited-edition costume on November 28. While it's a gacha-exclusive outfit, its revealing nature instantly divided opinions and left some players scratching their heads.

After screenshots hit the web, many players' initial reactions were along the lines of, "Did Blanc forget her skirt?" or "Wait, are those her undies?!... Oh, they totally are!"

As the debate raged, several netizens chimed in with real-world examples, pointing out that Blanc's new threads are actually part of the trendy "pantsless fashion" or "no-bottom look" that's been popular in recent years. Blanc's artist, minDORE (@Gilles_Doreeee), even confirmed to Japanese fans that this fashion style is indeed a real thing.

This style, often seen on Western celebrities and fashion runways, emphasizes pairing an oversized jacket or shirt with leggings or stockings to create a bold, avant-garde visual. Fans praised the artist for genuinely following fashion trends rather than just randomly designing the outfit.

But even with official and fan confirmation of the outfit's fashion roots, online reactions remain sharply divided.
Supporters argue:
"Blanc always had a stylish vibe, so this outfit makes perfect sense."
"Fashion in a futuristic world *should* be more avant-garde."
"Knowing it's a real-world trend actually makes it even cooler."

However, many players openly admit they can't quite get behind it:
"Even if it's real fashion, it still feels super awkward. It almost looks like exhibitionism, which is uncomfortable."
"If I saw this in real life, I'd probably do a triple-take."
"Whether it's fashion or just pushing the envelope really depends on personal taste."

So while "pantsless fashion" is definitely a thing in the real world, its application to a game character has clearly sparked a polarized reaction. Fashion, of course, is inherently subjective. For players, especially given that Goddess of Victory: NIKKE is a 15+ rated game, pushing these "sexy" boundaries might still be a bit much for some to accept.
