Chris Rock has been actively expanding his directorial career in recent years. In 2023, he signed on to direct a new Martin Luther King Jr. biopic produced by Universal Pictures . Last January, he also took on the American remake of "Another Round," the Oscar winner for Best International Feature Film . Then, last November, he announced he was developing an original film titled "Misty Green," which he would also write and direct, with projects continuously lining up.

However, the project moving fastest is actually the original film he announced most recently. That film has now assembled its main cast, with Topher Grace, Adam Driver, Daniel Kaluuya, and Anna Kendrick all confirmed to star. British actress Rosalind Eleazar takes on the central role, portraying an actress named Misty Green. Misty's acting career had hit a low point until a director she knew from the past offered her a chance to revitalize her career. However, their complicated relationship poses a significant obstacle to their collaboration. The film is currently in production.
