Disney's live-action "Tangled" has been in development for some time, with casting rumors frequently circulating in recent years. Florence Pugh was reportedly a contender for Rapunzel two years ago, while Kathryn Hahn and Scarlett Johansson were rumored earlier this year for Mother Gothel. Today, however, outlet Nexus Point News has unveiled a new list of candidates for Rapunzel.

Nexus Point News reports that Sadie Sink, Emma Myers, Mckenna Grace, and Isabel May are all on Disney's radar, with Sink reportedly the most frequently mentioned internally. Aesthetically, the blonde and sweet Grace is widely considered to most closely resemble Rapunzel's traditional image. Nexus Point News also emphasized that while they are unsure if these four have already auditioned, their names have certainly been discussed within Disney.
The live-action "Tangled" will be directed by "The Greatest Showman" Australian filmmaker Michael Gracey. Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, known for directing Netflix's teen comedy "Do Revenge" and co-writing "Thor: Love and Thunder," is penning the script. A release date has not yet been set.
