The nominations for the 83rd Golden Globe Awards were announced today, with "One Battle After Another" leading the pack with nine total nominations, making it the most-nominated film this year. "Sentimental Value" and "Sinners" followed closely behind with eight and seven nominations, respectively. In the animation category, "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle – Part One: Akaza Returns," which grossed a staggering $780 million worldwide, secured a nomination for Best Animated Feature, representing Asia.
In the acting categories, Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo made history. Both actresses received nominations for Best Supporting Actress and Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy for their identical roles in "Wicked: For Good." This marks a new record as the first time two actors have been nominated twice for the same character in the same film at the Golden Globes. Furthermore, Erivo individually became the first Black actress in history to receive two Golden Globe nominations for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy.
