The new animated film "Aang: The Last Airbender," based on "Avatar: The Last Airbender," was originally slated for a theatrical release. However, Paramount Animation has abruptly shifted its distribution strategy, moving the film exclusively to its streaming platform, Paramount+, and canceling its planned big-screen debut. The exact streaming date is yet to be announced.
"The Legend of Aang" has already experienced several delays. It was initially set for an October 10 release, then pushed to January 30, 2026, and later to October 9, 2026. Despite these postponements, the film ultimately won't see a theatrical release.

The voice cast for "The Legend of Aang" includes Dave Bautista, South Korean singer Eric Nam, Ke Huy Quan, Steven Yeun, and "Thor" franchise director Taika Waititi. The film's storyline is set during the "adult years" of its main characters — Aang, Katara, and Sokka — depicting their adventures in their 20s and 30s.
