George R.R. Martin, the original author of "Game of Thrones," recently sat down for an extensive interview with The Hollywood Reporter (THR), where he provided updates on the development status of several "Game of Thrones" spin-off projects. For example, the spin-off series centered on Lord Corlys Velaryon, known as "The Sea Snake," has quietly transitioned from a live-action production to an animated one, as HBO aims to reduce production costs.

Elsewhere, another spin-off detailing King Aegon Targaryen's conquest of Westeros is now being considered as a feature film, potentially developed into an epic on the scale of "Dune." The previously reported canceled Jon Snow spin-off is also back on track, with new writers joining to flesh out the concept. Reports suggest the series might relocate to the continent of Essos and could feature the return of Arya Stark. However, these plans are still in very early conceptual stages and remain subject to change.
