Three years after the release of "Fast X," the patriarch of "The Fast Saga" franchise, Vin Diesel, finally announced on Instagram today that the 11th installment, positioned as the grand finale of the series, is officially slated for a March 17, 2028, North American release. Fans will have to wait two more years for its arrival.
"Fast X" served as the first part of the finale, leaving audiences on a cliffhanger with Dominic Toretto and his crew ambushed by the villain Dante. Surprisingly, the second part, "Fast & Furious 11," won't continue the story until five years after its predecessor.

Additionally, Diesel revealed in his post that the 11th film will be titled "Fast Forever."
Regarding the creative team, "Fast X" director Louis Leterrier was previously confirmed to return for the 11th installment. "The Flash" screenwriter Christina Hodson and "The Lost City" screenwriter Oren Uziel are co-writing the script. Last year, Diesel also guaranteed that "Fast & Furious 11" would bring the story back to its street racing roots. He further teased a "century reunion" on the big screen between his character, Dominic Toretto, and Paul Walker's character, Brian O'Conner, though he didn't elaborate on how this would be achieved.
