One of the most iconic fantasy IPs of our time, "Harry Potter," is entering a new era with a completely rebooted HBO series set to premiere next year. Fans worldwide are eager to see what the new cast will bring to the roles, and it's inevitable that the new series' actors will be compared to the original film cast. However, Daniel Radcliffe, who famously portrayed the original Harry Potter, is not keen on this comparison and is strongly urging everyone to refrain from it.

Speaking recently with Screen Rant, Radcliffe noted that when the new actors were cast, there was a wave of online sentiment about "taking care of these kids." He suggested that if people genuinely wanted to support them, one of the best things they could do was not constantly ask them about the original trio — himself, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint. He expressed that he didn't want to be a "strange spiritual pressure" in their lives, urging everyone to let them thrive and embrace the new experience. He also conveyed his belief that the new Harry Potter actor would perform even better than he did.

Radcliffe further mentioned that he would be more inclined to show his children the new series, which he isn't in, rather than the original films. He felt it would be more enjoyable that way, and he might even enjoy the viewing experience more himself, as he generally dislikes watching his own performances. He added that he would be more willing to rewatch the earliest installments of the original films now because he's a considerable distance from that age. He found it awkward to see his 10 or 11-year-old self when he was 18 or even 10.
