Mirmo de Pon! Returns After 20 Years! New Series "Mirmo de Pon! New" Kicks Off March 3rd

Get ready for a blast from the past! Japanese manga artist Hiromu Shinozuka's beloved childhood classic, "Mirmo de Pon!", is making a triumphant return. Shogakukan's "Ciao" magazine announced yesterday (March 1) that a brand-new series, Mirmo de Pon! New (ミルモでポン!にゅ〜), will begin serialization in the April issue, hitting shelves on March 3rd. This legendary series is back as a "complete new work" after two decades!

The original "Mirmo de Pon!" was serialized in Shogakukan's shojo manga magazine "Ciao" from 2001 to 2005. The story centered on middle schooler Kaede and Mirmo, a super cute yet tsundere and mischievous love fairy. Their heartwarming and hilarious daily lives unfolded alongside their friends and fellow fairies.

The series garnered critical acclaim, winning the 27th Kodansha Manga Award for Children's Manga and the 49th Shogakukan Manga Award for Children's Manga in 2003. It also received a TV anime adaptation in 2002, solidifying its status as a childhood masterpiece for many.

The new series, "Mirmo de Pon! New," is set to kick off in the April issue of "Ciao" on March 3, 2026. It promises an entirely new storyline, designed to rekindle nostalgia for veteran fans while drawing in a new generation of readers.

To celebrate the new serialization, the manga platform "Ciao Plus" is running a limited-time event. Fans can enjoy 100 free chapters from Shinozuka-sensei's past works. This offer runs until March 20, but you'll need to register as a "Ciao Plus" member to participate.

A childhood memory resurrected! After more than 20 years since its conclusion, "Mirmo de Pon!" is back with a fresh narrative. We can't wait to see what new romantic chaos unfolds this time! With serialization kicking off soon, it's definitely something to look forward to.
