Gundam fans are getting a brand-new official shopping destination. On October 20, Japan’s BANDAI SPIRITS announced that its latest location, THE GUNDAM BASE SHIBUYA, will officially open at Shibuya PARCO on November 20.
Inspired by the energy and visual identity of Shibuya, THE GUNDAM BASE SHIBUYA features a distinctive interior unlike any of the brand’s other stores. Gundam- and Gunpla-themed neon signs and massive LED screens will fill the space, while busts of various mobile suits will take center stage.
The LED screens will play original videos created exclusively for THE GUNDAM BASE SHIBUYA, blending Gunpla with the Shibuya cityscape in a colorful, pop-inspired style. Between videos, the displays are also expected to feature 3D animations depicting Gunpla dioramas.

Near the checkout counter, visitors will also find artwork created in collaboration with graphic designer Nori Yokoyama. Inspired by classic Gunpla boxes, the graphic wall reimagines familiar package illustrations as fresh, Shibuya-themed works of visual art.
Graphic designer Nori Yokoyama established the design studio TANT Inc. in 2017. Working primarily across art direction, graphic design, and illustration, he has also contributed to projects spanning web design, video production, and spatial design.
His accolades include the DFA Design for Asia Awards, Topawards Asia, the Transit Advertising Grand Prix, GOOD DESIGN AWARD, ACC Award, and SDA Award.

THE GUNDAM BASE SHIBUYA will also introduce a dedicated section called SHIBUYA COLLECTION, featuring 15 rotating Gunpla products each month. The entire lineup will be refreshed monthly, with select hard-to-find kits rarely stocked at other locations also expected to appear. For collectors, that means something new to discover with every visit.
THE GUNDAM BASE SHIBUYA is scheduled to open on the fifth floor of Shibuya PARCO on November 20. If a Tokyo trip is on your calendar, Gundam fans now have one more essential stop to add to their Shibuya itinerary.
