Mckenna Grace Stashes "Pokémon TCG" Packs in Gown Pockets, Aims to Be First to Open Cards on Oscars Red Carpet

The Academy Awards red carpet is always a crucial stage for stars to showcase their fashion, but this year's event saw an unexpected twist. Rising star Mckenna Grace surprised reporters and fans alike when she pulled out "Pokémon" Trading Card Game booster packs from her gown pockets during a media interview.

Grace walked the red carpet in a custom Vera Wang gown. During an interview with "Entertainment Tonight," she first discussed the thoughtful design of her dress, noting that the inclusion of pockets was what made her happiest.

For years, many actresses have expressed a desire for gowns with pockets during red carpet interviews. Grace not only had them this time but used them in an unexpected way.

Towards the end of the interview, Grace pulled out several booster packs, revealing herself to be a "Pokémon" card enthusiast. She laughed, stating, "So Mason [Thames] and I were talking, and I was like, 'I'm really into Pokémon cards.' I said, 'I want to be the first person to open Pokémon cards at the Oscars.'"

She continued, "I have a lot of Pokémon cards in my pockets right now, so that's my plan tonight: to open them. I already secretly gave one pack to Mason, but I don't know who I'm going to give the next one to." Grace also quipped, "Maybe I'll end up keeping them all for myself, but who knows, maybe I'll find another Pokémon fan!"
