Do you recall Tom Cruise and Michael B. Jordan mutually championing each other's films last year, "Sinners" and "Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two"? At the time, Cruise publicly stated his willingness to collaborate with Jordan in the future, hinting that a plan might already be in the works. Now, that plan appears to be surfacing: a new "Miami Vice" film.
Renowned entertainment journalist Daniel Richtman exclusively revealed on his Patreon page that Cruise has been targeted to play the main villain in the new "Miami Vice," pitting him against Jordan.

The new "Miami Vice" will be directed by Joseph Kosinski, known for "Top Gun: Maverick" and the upcoming F1 film. Eric Warren Singer, co-writer of "Maverick," and Dan Gilroy, director of "Nightcrawler," are penning the screenplay. Cruise has previously collaborated with Kosinski on "Maverick" and "Oblivion," making his involvement highly probable.
As for the protagonists, Jordan and Austin Butler were already confirmed last year to team up as the detective duo. The story will be set in the mid-1980s and will be filmed with IMAX cameras. It is slated for release on August 6 next year.
