Last month, Mckenna Grace was first confirmed to star as Daphne in the live-action "Scooby-Doo" series, based on Warner Bros.' classic animated IP. In recent days, major media outlets and distributor Netflix have successively announced additional cast members.

Three more key cast members have been confirmed: Tanner Hagen as Shaggy and Maxwell Jenkins as Fred. Abby Ryder Fortson, known for playing Cassie, Scott Lang's daughter, in the first two "Ant-Man" films, will take on the role of Velma.

The series is penned and showrun by Josh Appelbaum, co-writer of the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" franchise, and Scott Rosenberg, co-writer of the "Jumanji" films. Frank Welker, the long-time voice actor for Scooby-Doo, will also return to voice the iconic canine.

The live-action "Scooby-Doo" series will delve into the origin story of how the "Mystery Inc." gang first met and teamed up to solve their initial case. At the tail end of summer camp, Shaggy and Daphne find themselves entangled in an unforgettable mystery, centered around a lonely, lost Great Dane puppy who may be a witness to a supernatural murder. They join forces with the pragmatic and scientifically-minded Velma, and the quirky yet handsome new kid in town, Fred, to unravel the enigma. However, the case pulls each of them into a terrifying nightmare, threatening to expose all their secrets. The first season will consist of eight episodes, produced by Warner Bros. Television and distributed by Netflix.
