Late last month, Ryan Gosling was reportedly in talks to star in the new sci-fi action-comedy from Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, the acclaimed directing duo known as The Daniels, behind the Oscar-winning hit "Everything Everywhere All at Once." However, just days later, news broke this morning that Gosling has exited the project. The reason is straightforward: scheduling conflicts. Gosling's availability clashed with the production timeline, and the filmmakers were unable to further delay the shooting schedule, leading to the amicable dissolution of their planned collaboration.

Despite Gosling's departure, other actors are now rumored to be joining the cast. Renowned film reporter Jeff Sneider recently indicated on his paid blog, The Sneider, that an actor who has previously collaborated with The Daniels is expected to sign on. Sneider speculates the role could go to either Ke Huy Quan, who won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in "Everything Everywhere All at Once," or Paul Dano, who previously worked with Kwan and Scheinert on their critically acclaimed film "Swiss Army Man."

Sneider also revealed that the film's production budget is a staggering $150 million. This figure is considered exceptionally high for an original project, especially when compared to The Daniels' previous two features, which had budgets not exceeding $15 million. This marks a significant financial leap for the directing duo.
