This year marks the 55th anniversary of the "Kamen Rider" franchise, and to celebrate, a brand-new theatrical film, "Agito - Psychic War -," was announced in late January. Coinciding with "Kamen Rider Agito"'s 25th anniversary, this special movie is set to hit theaters across Japan on April 29.
Today (April 6), the official channels dropped three character posters, featuring Makoto Hikawa, Ruriko Aoi, and Shouichi Tsugami! This film is breaking new ground, promising a more mature, psychic-powered action blockbuster.
The lead role goes to Jun Kaname, known for his work in the "Kingdom" series and set to portray Mitsuhide Akechi in the 2026 NHK Taiga drama "Toyotomi Brothers!" Kaname originally debuted as Makoto Hikawa/G3 in the TV series "Kamen Rider Agito."
But he's not alone! Toshiki Kashu, who played Shouichi Tsugami (Agito), is also back, alongside other original cast members like Hitomi Fujita, Jun Yamasaki, Akira Shibata, Takeshi Masu, and Rina Akiyama. Plus, new cast members are joining the fray, making for one seriously stacked lineup!
The three posters unveiled feature Makoto Hikawa/G7 (Jun Kaname), Ruriko Aoi/G6 (Yuuchami), and Shouichi Tsugami (Toshiki Kashu).
Makoto Hikawa is rocking the latest enhanced armor, "G7," striking an incredibly powerful pose with his weapon. Behind him, his unwavering expression perfectly captures the struggle and resolve he faces against new threats. Evolving from the G3 and G3-X, his combat power looks like it's gotten a serious upgrade!
Ruriko Aoi makes her appearance in "G6," looking absolutely badass with her gun. She exudes the aura of a new-generation G-Unit member, capable of leading her comrades, making us super curious about her role in the film.
As for Shouichi Tsugami, he gazes forward with his usual gentle demeanor, but the Agito silhouette behind him carries a faint, ethereal quality. In this new story, he's lost his Agito powers, and that fading sensation is subtly captured in the image, adding a touch of melancholy.
