"Spider-Man: Brand New Day" is currently undergoing reshoots, and star Tom Holland recently revealed in a "GQ" interview that the new round of filming will incorporate more humor and villain plotlines. He emphasized that these aren't reshoots due to poor performance but rather an enhancement of existing content.

Holland stated he's currently in London for the additional photography, describing the process as "a lot of fun." He noted that director Destin Daniel Cretton's already completed material works well, and the reshoots are simply adding more layers to certain sequences.
"The movie itself is already established; we're just adding a little icing on the cake in certain places," Tom Holland said.
He further revealed that the additional footage will introduce more humorous moments and strengthen the villain storyline in new ways, aiming for a more entertaining cinematic experience. The identity of the villain remains undisclosed, though speculation suggests possibilities like Scorpion or a mysterious character portrayed by Sadie Sink.
Holland also discussed his evolving approach to choosing projects in recent years. He stated he now places greater emphasis on directors and scripts, taking time to communicate with writers to understand the creative process. He also underscored his support for theatrical releases, expressing a desire to build long-term relationships with studios that prioritize the cinema experience.

"Spider-Man: Brand New Day" is set four years after "Spider-Man: No Way Home," with Peter Parker now an adult living independently and working full-time as New York's protector in a world where no one remembers him. As pressure mounts, he will face new physical changes and dangerous threats. The film is slated for release on July 31, 2026.
