The beloved light novel series "Aria the Scarlet Ammo," penned by Chugaku Akamatsu with illustrations by Kobuichi, boasts 44 main volumes and one bonus volume. Its spin-off, "Aria the Scarlet Ammo AA," is still actively releasing new chapters.
Today, to mark the anime's 15th anniversary, the official team dropped a bombshell: a brand-new short anime is in the works! Details on its release format are still under wraps, so keep those eyes peeled for official updates.
First hitting shelves in 2008, "Aria the Scarlet Ammo" has since racked up over 9 million copies sold across its series. It got its first TV anime adaptation in 2011, brought to life by J.C.STAFF with a stellar voice cast including Rie Kugimiya, Junji Majima, and other familiar faces like Mikako Takahashi, Mariya Ise, and Kaori Ishihara. Fans also got a spin-off anime, "Aria the Scarlet Ammo AA," in 2015.
Alongside the short anime announcement, the official channels also dropped a gorgeous 15th-anniversary celebratory illustration. While we're still waiting on broadcast details, the sheer fact that "Aria" is getting new anime content after over a decade is enough to send fans into a frenzy of excitement!
And if that wasn't enough, ABEMA is kicking off a full-season marathon watch party for both "Aria the Scarlet Ammo" and "Aria the Scarlet Ammo AA" starting today! Even better, you can rewatch them for free for 14 days after the broadcast ends!
While countless fans have been begging for a full second season of "Aria" for years with no luck, this new short anime is definitely a welcome glimmer of hope for everyone who's been waiting!
