The ever-expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to grow, not only with an increasing roster of characters but also with a steady addition of superhero teams. Currently, established groups include the Fantastic Four, the Avengers, the Defenders, the Guardians of the Galaxy, and the Thunderbolts (formerly the New Avengers). However, this is clearly not the full extent of upcoming teams, as rumors have long circulated about the development of projects featuring the Midnight Sons and the Champions (Young Avengers).
The latest group rumored to be forming within the MCU is "Alpha Flight." Prominent entertainment scooper MyTimeToShineHello recently posted that Marvel Studios has begun developing an adaptation of Alpha Flight. Details regarding whether it will be a series, animated project, or feature film were not specified.
In the Marvel comic universe, Alpha Flight has its own dedicated series, with its initial members all established as Canadian-born characters. These include Snowbird, Shaman, Sasquatch, the mutant siblings Northstar and Aurora, and their team leader, Guardian—all hailing from various parts of Canada. Even Wolverine, a native of Alberta, Canada, was a member for a period. As for which characters will join the MCU version, no information has been released yet.
