Last month, Timothée Chalamet stirred controversy during a panel discussion when he declared that "nobody cares about ballet and opera anymore" in this era, adding that he had no interest in performances that "beg for attention to survive." His remarks immediately sparked outrage globally, with netizens accusing Chalamet of arrogance. Many Hollywood insiders also sided with the public in criticizing his comments. Now, Charlize Theron has joined the chorus of stars condemning the actor.

Theron, a former dancer, was recently asked about Chalamet's controversial remarks during a new interview with "The New York Times." She responded, "Dancing is probably one of the hardest things I've ever done. Dancers are superheroes; they silently endure all the pain in their bodies."
Theron continued, "Oh my God, I really hope I get to meet him someday [referring to Chalamet]. For him to make such flippant comments about an art form — two art forms, actually — both of which constantly need our support because, yes, they are indeed difficult to sustain. In ten years, AI might be able to do Timothée's job, but it will never replace a live dancer on stage. We shouldn't belittle other art forms. Dance taught me discipline, structure, hard work, and strength. It's incredibly brutal; there were times my blisters wouldn't heal, leading to blood infections. And you don't get days off. I'm talking about dancing non-stop to the point where blood seeped into my shoes. That's the willpower you have to hone every day—never giving up, having no choice but to keep dancing."
