Chinese toy brand CCSTOYS has teased the upcoming release of an original weapon, "GOD OF THUNDER," for their "MORTAL MIND" die-cast action figure series, based on "Mazinkaiser SKL."
The 2011 OVA anime "Mazinkaiser SKL" broke away from previous Mazinkaiser OVA continuity, introducing new characters, mecha designs, and an original storyline. It follows the WSO's combat unit, SKULL FORCE, as they intervene in the power struggle between three major factions on Machine Island, allying with the Aira Army against the Kiba and Garand forces. The super robot "Mazinkaiser SKL," piloted by protagonists Ken Kaido and Ryo Magami, is armed with two distinct weapons: the retractable greatsword "Gazan Blade" and the twin guns "Breast Triggers," which can also transform into a massive axe. Furthermore, it is supported by the transforming mecha "SKL-RR," capable of shifting between motorcycle and skeletal horse forms.
This release, however, isn't SKL-RR itself, but an original weapon named "GOD OF THUNDER," reimagined with its iconic motif. The model boasts an impressive length of approximately 29.7 cm. Its overall design masterfully fuses the aesthetics of an electric guitar and a battle axe, complete with a guitar neck-like grip and a massive blade featuring both curved and serrated edges. Intricate details draw inspiration from the "SKL-RR" design, such as a golden skeletal horse head, along with motorcycle elements like wheels, suspension systems, and exhaust pipes.
