Japanese model maker Kotobukiya has officially announced the latest entry in its original plastic model kit series, "Megalo Maria": the new "Emulator #2" is scheduled for a September 2026 release.
The "Emulator" is a highly popular ANOTHER-type character within the "Megalo Maria" universe. While other ANOTHERs feature distinctly inorganic, mechanical designs, the Emulator can mimic the form of a TRIGGER (human). Its armor is covered in an artificial skin-like material, and its facial features bear a striking resemblance to the series protagonist, Kagaribi Maria. This new release, "Emulator #2", sports a different look with short silver hair and tan skin, mimicking Maria's close friend, Nemoto Ran.
"Emulator #2" is based on the standard release kit but has been modified with parts from other characters to recreate the signature short, silver hairstyle. The artificial skin parts have been molded in a healthy, tan "Skin Color D." The kit comes with two newly sculpted, pre-painted face plates—a smiling expression and an angry expression—both featuring articulated eyeballs. By using the included tool, you can freely adjust the gaze of both eyes. Additionally, the eyes are finished with UV printing, giving them a glossy, glass-like luster.
The articulated base body inherits the design of its predecessor, featuring an identical sculpt with a new color scheme. It boasts a graceful, human-like physique and incredible flexibility with over 50 points of articulation. Key features include single-axis knee joints capable of a deep bend, independently movable knee armor, a multi-axis pull-out shoulder joint structure, independently articulated hip joints, and palms that can bend inward nearly 180 degrees. The characteristic hip armor can be assembled in either a "left/right independent" or a "single-piece" configuration. This impressive range of motion not only covers various everyday poses but also allows for the fluid, powerful acrobatic stances seen in action films.
Accessories include a "Combat Knife" molded in clear red (the same type as the one included with the "Punisher"), goggles, a front hair piece compatible with glasses or forehead-mounted gear, 14 pairs of different hand parts, and unarmored left and right shoulder blade parts, allowing for extensive customization to suit your preferences.
