While "Grand Theft Auto VI" isn't officially available for pre-order yet, its potential price has already ignited a fervent discussion among the gaming community. Amid recent rumors of a Best Buy pre-order schedule leak and escalating speculation about a third trailer, players have now spotted Dutch retailer Gameshop Twente listing "GTA 6" with a €99 price tag, which converts to approximately $115 USD. This has reignited concerns that the highly anticipated title could be among the first major releases to approach the $100 price point.

Indeed, speculation about "GTA 6" potentially costing $99 has circulated among players and industry insiders for some time. However, neither Rockstar Games nor its parent company, Take-Two Interactive, has officially announced the game's price or confirmed any pre-order editions, special versions, or bundle packages. Therefore, the €99 price listed on Gameshop Twente's page cannot yet be considered official.
The player community largely believes this price is likely a temporary "placeholder" entered by the retailer. On ResetEra, one player noted that the EAN (European Article Number) barcode used on the product page appeared incorrect, leading to the conclusion that the listed price is "almost certainly a placeholder." However, others have pointed out that even as a placeholder, €99 is a notably sensitive figure, as it directly echoes the long-standing $100 price rumors.

Reddit has also seen extensive discussions. Some players frankly stated they would be "shocked" if "GTA 6"'s standard edition truly sold for €100. Others cautioned players against accepting such a price, fearing that if "GTA 6" successfully establishes a $100 price point, other major titles might follow suit, further inflating AAA game prices.

However, some industry figures have previously expressed reservations about a $100 price tag. Obbe Vermeij, a former technical director at Rockstar, once stated he believed "GTA 6" would likely not sell for $100. Given that official pricing has yet to be announced, it remains difficult to determine whether the retailer's page represents an early leak or merely a placeholder.
"GTA 6" is currently slated for a November 19, 2026 release. As pre-order rumors, retailer listings, and PlayStation Store unlock times continue to surface, player anticipation for the official price and edition content will only intensify. All details await the official unveiling from Rockstar and Take-Two.
