Imagine peeling a banana, expecting sweet fruit, only to find... a tiny, adorable room packed with miniature furniture!
That's the whimsical world brought to life by Japanese clay artist "Nendo Zaiker SNAIL" (@nendo_snail), whose incredible "Miniature Room in a Banana" resin clay model has gone viral on X.

In a post, the artist revealed, "I made a room inside a banana using resin clay. The banana peel, the fruit, and the room are all made of clay." The post included photos of the astonishing creation.
From the outside, it looks almost indistinguishable from a real banana. But crack it open, and you're greeted by an unbelievably intricate miniature space that's left everyone stunned.
Nendo Zaiker SNAIL shared that the inspiration struck when he thought, "Wouldn't it be fun if you opened up a food item's skin or shell and found a room inside?" He's explored this concept before, even creating a "Miniature Room in an Eggshell."
The banana room is a continuation of this series. He believes hiding miniature rooms inside everyday food items amplifies the visual impact of how tiny the rooms are, creating a sense of "the extraordinary within the ordinary." And that's how the "room in a banana" idea was born.

The project took several days to complete, involving multiple rounds of drying and adjustments. While adding more blemishes or bruises would have made the outer banana even more realistic, the artist intentionally kept a cleaner, prettier exterior to complement the "cute little room" aesthetic.

Conversely, the furniture inside the room isn't hyper-realistic; it's been given a charming, chibi-style makeover. This striking contrast between the "super realistic outside" and the "super cute inside" adds another layer of charm to the piece.
The room features a banana-shaped bed, a pound cake-inspired wardrobe, and more. The artist's personal favorite? The "banana slice table and chairs." He explains that this set best conveys the "banana room" theme and, placed centrally, instantly defines the entire space's first impression.

Nendo Zaiker SNAIL is thrilled with the final result, noting that the outer banana achieved the realism he envisioned, while the furniture perfectly blends banana characteristics with a cute style, striking an ideal balance for the overall effect.
