GTA 6 Pre-Order Hopes Dashed: Players Still Await Third Trailer, Price Reveal

Widespread rumors suggesting "Grand Theft Auto VI" would open for pre-orders on May 18, 2026, now appear to be unfounded. Speculation ignited last week after players observed YouTuber "Frogboyx1gaming" during a livestream, where he seemingly received an email from a Best Buy affiliate account. The email reportedly mentioned a "GTA 6" pre-order event potentially running from May 18 to 21, leading many to believe Rockstar Games might launch pre-orders and even drop a third trailer on the same day.

However, Rockstar Games never officially announced any such plans. Adding to the disappointment, a lead administrator on GTA Forums recently stated that a verified source from a European publishing company confirmed "no pre-orders" and suggested Best Buy might have made an error. This news has once again left the player community, who had eagerly anticipated new developments on May 18, feeling let down, sparking considerable dissatisfaction across forums and social media platforms.

Currently, the official price for "GTA 6" remains unannounced, and players are still awaiting new trailers or screenshots. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick previously indicated that the game's marketing campaign is expected to commence this summer, consistently emphasizing that "GTA 6" will deliver "incredible value."

"GTA 6" has already experienced two delays, initially shifting from its original Fall 2025 target to May 2026, and then again to November 19, 2026. While concerns about potential further delays persist, Zelnick recently reiterated that the release date is now firm, assuring that Rockstar will be granted the necessary time and resources to ensure the game achieves its desired quality.
