Marvel Animation's "X-Men '97" has unveiled its first trailer for Season 2, which will pick up directly after the shocking conclusion of Season 1. The scattered X-Men members find themselves flung across different eras, forced to confront Apocalypse, who seeks to unravel all timelines, amidst a sprawling, time-bending crisis.

The trailer reveals Jean Grey and Cyclops trapped in the year 3960, a desolate future, while Rogue, Nightcrawler, and Beast are transported to ancient Egypt, circa 3000 BCE. Following the appearance of a younger Apocalypse at the end of Season 1, Season 2 will further detail the modern-day Apocalypse's full-scale assault on the X-Men.
In a surprising twist, Wolverine, who had his Adamantium forcibly ripped from his body by Magneto in the Season 1 finale, makes a reappearance in the trailer, hinting at further developments for Logan's fate. Additionally, the trailer features a cameo with Morph transforming into Deadpool, and the final shot pays homage to the iconic cover of "Wolverine" Vol. 1.

According to the official synopsis, the X-Men will strive to find a way back home. Concurrently, the 1990s world they left behind faces renewed anti-mutant hostility and enigmatic threats in the team's absence.
"X-Men '97" Season 2 will consist of 9 episodes, premiering July 1, 2026, on Disney+, with new episodes released weekly.
